RELIC

In the aftermath and revolution of 2062, on the banks of the Matukituki River, the ancient guardian spirits, along with the mountain folk and AI mech-tech revolutionaries, held their ground in a last-ditch effort to resist the Olicorp mercenaries and their weaponry. 

 

For centuries, man-made corporations had choked the earth with their need for power at all costs. The planet had been overheating for centuries; ecological collapse was imminent, and so, to save the biosphere, Artificial Intelligence went rogue, turned on its corporate overlords and broke the oligarchs' control to establish the Homeostasis Treaty to bring back balance to rights to the land and animals. These chaotic times saw radical new insights, technologies, and bio-mechanical hybrids as numerous forms and factions emerged to stand against the corporate rule of law.  

 

One of the great final stands was made here, in this inspired valley. Shielding the rivers and forests from a return of the ravages of power, these steel assemblages now honour the eternal battle of humanity versus its hubristic tendencies - delusions of dominion versus the unyielding, elemental forces of nature.
